The Ball, 19:00 - 02:00

Before 2012 Duke Dumont was known as a ‘producer’s producer’. He was the name on a 12” record the DJ knew to reach for when he wanted to please the crowd, without them knowing who had constructed the mesmerising sonic confection they were dancing to.

In 2012, all of that changed. ‘For Club Play Vol. 1 & 2’ offered up sweet ecstatic deep house & UK bass cuts that have united people across the spectrum of music, from early club adopters like Annie Mac, Erol Alkan, Diplo, Martyn and Jackmaster to Fearne Cotton on daytime Radio 1, Trevor Nelson on 1xtra and even podcasts by Tiesto and Avicci. ‘The producer’s producer’ had become the ‘people’s producer’.

In 2013 Dumont topped the UK charts with the now Grammy nominated ‘Need U (100%)’ featuring A*M*E* on singing duties & co-written by teenage wonder-kid MNEK. The most played song on Radio 1 / 1Xtra in the UK, #1 on Billboard's National Club Chart, had Duke performing at over 200 live shows around the world and the official video has now surpassed 15 million views on YouTube.

Having ended last year signing an album deal with Virgin Records, Duke’s been in the studio nailing his debut offering. His new single ‘I Got U’ has shaken up the dance floor with 8 million views on the official YouTube video and becoming Duke's second UK number one.

James & the Rabbit Hole rocked the Summer Ball last year, and are back to do the same at the Afterparty! Moulding their own version of rock and roll out of solid funk beats and a classic gritty tone, James and The Rabbit Hole have barrelled their way through this competition in a way that only a true rock and roll band can; through roaring guitar driven tunes that have moved crowds across the capital. Their truly original sound, despite their short time together, has been ever so finely crafted, taking influences spanning the decades and paying homage to the true greats of bands and artists of all genres creating an, "accomplished old-school sound, with lyrics akin to country story-telling" (University Music League).
