Union Minibus

Expired Driver Status

Your Driver Status, once conferred to you, usually upon completion of your practical minibus test, will last for 3 years. When that time period is set to expire, you will receive an automated message from our system, indicating that your driver status has either expired, or is about to expire; this email will be sent to the email which you provided when you signed up as a driver. If you have no intention/need of driving the minibuses, then you don't need to take any further action. If, however, you would like to continue driving the minibuses, then you will either need to either provide evidence of recent driving experience and have your status automatically extended OR have a re-test of your practical minibus test.

If you can prove that you have driven the minibuses with some frequency, within the last academic year, then your driver status will be automatically extended for another 3 years. Proof of such recent driving experience can be in the form of recent dates of trips for your society, on which you were a driver, or, preferably, the booking numbers of the minibuses which you have driven for your society (within the last academic year).

If you cannot provide such proof and/or have not driven the minibuses in the last academic year, then you will need to re-sit your minibus test. You can do so by purchasing a Minibus Induction Credit on our website.

If you have any questions or any special circumstances, which are not described above, then please get in touch with us.
