Nominations open Thursday 3 October for Autumn Elections 2019. This is the first election of the year, when the entire student body chooses Undergraduate and Postgraduate course representatives and other positions that are crucial to a great student experience at Imperial. We’re electing our Academic Reps and Wellbeing Reps, as well as Representatives to Council (Council Reps), Constituent Union committee leaders and the committees of our Clubs, Societies & Projects. We're also electing our Disabilities Officer and an International Officer, who will join the six other Liberation and Community Officers elected in our Leadership Elections in March. These roles are critical to the student experience and allow us to take charge of our Imperial experience as students.
You can stand for any of these positions from noon on Thursday 3 October, 2019. Nominations will remain open until Monday 14 October 2019, after which the entire student body will vote between 21-24 October. Results will be published online on 25 October.
Academic Representatives speak up for students on education issues such as coursework, feedbackand learning resources. There's a Rep for every Year group and every Department for both UGs and PGs
Wellbeing Representatives campaign and lobby on issues affecting students' lives, such as stress, finances, relationships and health. There's a Rep for every Year group and every Department for UGs
Council Representatives propose and agree Imperial College Union's policies on critical issues such as tuition fees, widening access and the environment
Disabilities Officer is one of our Liberation Officers, representing the interests of students who identify as having a disability
International Officer is one of our Liberation Officers, representing the interests of students who are not classified as domestic
Constituent Union Leaders organise social events and campaigns within their communities, as well as maintain Imperial's traditions and mascots
Clubs, Societies & Projects leaders ensure their actvities are managed in the interest of members
Imperial College Union exists to empower students to speak up for themselves and change the world around them - let's start with the student experience. We have the power to shape our learning, access the support we need to thrive, defend the interests of under-represented student communities, build our Constituent Unions and ensure we are as democratic as possible at the highest levels of decision-making. Autumn Elections are our annual opportunity to elect the Reps who will lead the charge in those areas. Some roles are paid and are a full time commitment, while others can be done while studying. There will be training and support for all candidates as well as those who are successful. For the full election timetable, see below.
