Candidate Manifesto:
Thank you for visiting my website. I am the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for the Battersea seat at the General Election on 7 May. You can find out more about my work and activities on both before dissolution, when I was the MP in Parliament, and now out and about in the constituency as a candidate. And there’s more about my local and national campaigns at www.janeellison.net/janes-campaigns.
I am honoured and delighted to have served as the Member of Parliament for this constituency and, if reelected in May, I will continue to strive to serve the people of Battersea, Balham and Wandsworth in practical and positive ways.
My priorities for Battersea, Balham and Wandsworth
1. Improving local travel by continuing investment in public transport, including more mainline train and bus capacity & new tube stops in Battersea
2. Helping every child have the best start in life, with more great local schools & fewer children brought up in workless households
3. Ensuring our high streets are lively and attractive by supporting local businesses & championing community pubs
The practical and positive choice for Battersea, Balham and Wandsworth
- Led local transport campaigns on Diamond Jubilee foot and cycle bridge, lifts at train stations & ‘Boris Bikes’
- I give practical help to businesses; local take up of key £1,000 Government rate rebate is the best in London
- Successfully kept the Bolingbroke hospital site in community use, with a new school & health services
- Worked positively with local schools, charities & community groups, responding to over 14,000 constituents
- I live in the constituency with my husband, work full-time for constituents and claimed no personal expenses
