The winner of the 2016 Student Academic Choice Award for Best Tutoring was Dr Apostolos Voulgarakis, of the Department of Physics.

 "Without Apostolos's guidance, I believe I would not be finishing my degree this year. He is always extremely responsive to emails and fast to make appointments to see you. Despite a large amount of tutees, he manages to remember all previous interactions and is therefore able to give each tutee the feeling of being cared for individually. I have always felt that I could tell him what was going on in my life that was impacting my studies and I felt secure in his confidence, great judgement and advice."

"Apostolos Voulgarakis is not only an inspirational researcher, but also an exceptional human being. All of his tutees are obviously aware of how lucky they have been by being assigned to him in first year: although he is clearly very busy, he always makes great efforts to help any of us. When we send him an email, he does not simply answer to it: he takes the time to explain his opinion, give examples from his experience and project his own person into our situation. I am personally extremely thankful for Apostolos support, without which I would have certainly had a harder time at Imperial and I would have found it more difficult to connect to the right people across the globe."
