"Pre-Fresher Madness" - A sort-of Poem

President

In groups of two and three, in scuttled the Imperialites-to-be, to be greeted by the Deputy Presidents and me. The buzz of starting FRESH was in the air and you could see that the new recruits were itching to make friends. And so they started, social butterflies in the ranks.

The clock struck two and out we sent them into the wilderness of South Ken. Many a photo was taken, with the dear hope of claiming a prize at the end. The Queen’s Tower stood ominously in the background, ever present…

3pm and back again. RAG appeared, to teach those who listened the virtues of charity. These virtues manifested in bin bags, eggs and glee! No egg was broken in the egg and spoon race, no rope was snapped in the three-legged chase. But not one, NOT ONE, of the bin bags of the bin bag race, did not break.

Hopping turned to stomping. Stomping turned to running. Running turned to bin-bag flailing and flomping!

Prize-giving and the soon-to-be-students surrounded the sabbaticals. The winners were announced to the congregation.  On the victorious then rained bright pink Maoams and a swarm of Celebrations.
