It's my pleasure to be serving you for a second year.

Speaking of service, it is a delight that this very week the Commonwealth celebrates Her Majesty the Queen's milestone as longest-reigning monarch.

Queen Elizabeth II has served dutifully for over 63 years. Among the highlights of her reign, no doubt, include visting Imperial College to give us our Royal Charter in 2007. It is this same Royal Charter that makes Imperial College Union an integral part of the College.

It was a privilege for me to arrange with the College Secretary and the University of London Society of Change Ringers for these bells to be rung today, 10th September, in honour of Our Sovereign's dedicated service.
