Voting has now closed in The Big Elections and we are busy preparing for our results party tonight where we will announce the winners of Imperial College Union’s most successful elections ever! A whopping 42.47% of you took part in what is the largest student vote in England and Wales, helping us regain our crown as the most democratic union. To achieve this we surpassed last year’s number of voters by 720 to record a total of 7,258 students voting.

It was also a record year for Postgraduate students voting as 22.5% of them registered a vote, up over 50% on last year’s total. A lot of this increase came from our non-South Kensington campuses with Silwood recording a 40.8% turnout.
