Interested in campaigning for change? Run for Campaigns Officer

Imperial College Union is looking for a Campaigns Officer! Could it be you?

The Campaigns Officer is a volunteer position, responsible for supporting their fellow Officers and Academic Representatives in generating and supporting campaigns across College and nationally to improve the lives of students.

Campaigning is just one of the many areas in which students can volunteer their time. Imperial College Union supports eight volunteers known as ‘Liberation Officers’, covering the following areas:

  • Black & Minority Ethnic Students
  • Campaigns
  • Disabilities
  • Ethics & the Environment
  • Gender Equality
  • Interfaith
  • International
  • LGBT

These students are trained, funded and supported to lead campaigns, provoke discussion and change the world around them for the better. We also have a network of Welfare Officers across the Undergraduate and Postgraduate communities, and work with College’s own support services, including the Disability Advisory Service, Student Counselling Service, Personal Tutors and more.

The Campaigns Officer will be able to access in-house and external training, attend conferences, and apply for campaign funding. They will also be able to record their volunteering contribution through Imperial Plus, the Union’s programme for accrediting the skills and experiences of our volunteers.

The Campaigns Officer is also a member of the Community & Welfare Board, a democratic student body that makes decisions about campaign funding and priorities amongst the eight Liberation Zones.

If you are interested in running to be our Campaigns Officer, click here to nominate yourself, or contact Sky Yarlett , our Representation & Campaigns Coordinator, if you have any questions.

Nominations open Saturday 4 October and close at midnight Thursday 16 October, at which point election campaigning can begin.

Voting opens at noon Monday 20 October and closes at noon Friday 24 October.

All students are eligible to run or vote for Campaigns Officer.
