Volunteer with Oxfam to make a difference

Oxfam works every day to make real and lasting change. They are currently looking for passionate volunteers to join their Constituency Campaigner Programme.

Constituency Campaigners raise Oxfam's issues with the politicians and decision-makers in their area to promote real and lasting change in people's lives. In becoming one of their Constituency Campaigners, volunteers will be making a difference by campaigning on the root causes of poverty and suffering.

Oxfam’s Constituency Campaigner Programme aims to provide volunteers with the knowledge, tools and support to make sure their voices are heard and have influence at the highest level. This role will give volunteers vital skills and experience in being an effective campaigner and influencing those who hold the power, right in their own communities.  Constituency campaigners, often working with others, play a vital role in demonstrating constituency support for the rights of people living in poverty around the world.

Campaigners can develop persuasive writing skills, influencing and campaigning skills, and learn about innovative ways of working with politicians. They receive support and training throughout the programme. The scheme would be of interest to those who are passionate about relieving poverty and hunger, and who are also thinking of starting a career in public affairs or community campaigning
