We are excited to announce a significant expansion in the range of volunteering opportunities that you can get involved in as a student at Imperial. Over the Summer the Union took the decision to heavily invest in increasing our volunteering and student development services. This decision, taken in conjunction with and with support from the College, does mean that our strategic partnership with Student Hubs has come to an end, however we will be offering many of the same opportunities as well as some new ones over the coming year.
This is an exciting new opportunity for the Union to harness the enthusiasm and passion of students to establish social action projects, making impact locally, nationally and internationally. Volunteer projects have the best chance of success when students are involved in the initiation, design, delivery and evaluation of them and Imperial College Union is uniquely placed to do just that.
We are also pleased to have entered in to a number of strategic relationships with the College to deliver exciting and innovative opportunities to our students such as Pimilico Connections, Imperial’s premiere peer-tutoring scheme which has been running since 1975. These opportunities, alongside our exisiting student development programme Imperial Plus and Community Connections, our volunteering opportunities brokerage, mean that it has never been a more exciting time to be a student volunteer at Imperial.
What does this mean for you? Well it’s simple really if you want to get involved with volunteering activities, social entrepreneurship or community engagement; Imperial College Union will be offering more opportunities, training and support than ever before!
Come along to the Volunteering Fair on Tuesday 13 October in the Great Hall to discover all of the great volunteering opportunities available at Imperial and of course you can always find out more at imperialcollegeunion.org/volunteering .
