We are looking into launching an app for your phone and we need your help. More and more of you are accessing our website using your mobile phone or tablet and, whilst we are working on making our website more mobile friendly, we also want to talk to you all about what you might want from a Union app. We don’t want to simply recreate the current website for the small screen, we want to deliver better services for you on the move. We’ve had some ideas, what if..

• you could buy tickets for Union and Club, Society & Project events through the app and get a barcode that will get you in?
• you could submit an eActivities claim using your phone camera?
• you could contact you Academic Rep with a few taps of a screen?
• you could record your Imperial Plus volunteering hours quickly at the end of each day?
• your calendar automatically updated with the events from the parts of the Union that you got involved with?
• you could give you feedback on Union and College proposed changes, straight from your phone?
• you could order a pizza in time for your lunch break?

These are some of what we have come up with, but what we really want is for you to let us know what you would want. We also want your feedback as to how we should make the app. We know there budding developers out there who might want to help us out!

Our aim is simple here, we want to make the best mobile app for your time at Imperial; an app that is actually useful and worth opening every day.
