There is a great appetite for more events that aren't focused around alcohol
Imperial College Union's first ever Alt. Mingle, a chilled-out non-alcoholic alternative to the Mingles, was attended by over 500 students over the weekend. Hosted in a transformed Junior Common Room, a series of bands, DJs and artists performed a series of live lounge style sets including Lizzie Campbell, Filthy Strings and Crystal X.
Our student media also got involved with Felix Editor, Joesph Letts, perfroming an improptu DJ set as the audience tucked into their bubble tea and took in the atmosphere.
Marissa Lewis, Deputy President (Welfare) said, "It was great to see so many students turn up for our first ever Alt. Mingle, we are really pleased that so many student artists and bands got involved. We even had a band made up of the Wardening team from Beit Hall perform! It shows that there is a great appetite for more events that aren't focused around alcohol, we hope to plan more of these in the future.".
