The Techtonics are Imperial College’s very own all male a cappella group. Since inception four years ago, the group has grown in reputation and is now well known, not only at Imperial College but also across the London and world a cappella music scenes.
The major contributor to the Techtonics’ recent success was the release of their debut studio album “Groundbreaker” in September 2012. The 8-track album was recorded at Imperial then sent to America for editing, mixing and mastering in order to produce an award winning final product.
In fact, the final track on the album, “Earthquake”, has already been included on 2 separate compilation CDs: ‘The UK Voice Collection 2013’ and ‘Sing!’, the latter being arguably the most prestigious compilation CD in world a cappella today!
‘Groundbreaker’ is available now to buy from the Union website! To find out more about the group, find them on Facebook and Twitter or if you have any more detailed questions or would like to book them for live gigs, email the group at techtonics@imperial.ac.uk.
