College to act as rent guarantors

Imperial College Union is proud to announce that Deputy President (Welfare) Jennie Watson’s proposal for the College to act as a rent guarantor for overseas students has been accepted and agreed by the Provost.

The scheme will be brought to life in the coming year with implementation being overseen by President Elect, Nas Andiopolis and Deputy President (Welfare) Elect, Emily-Jane Cramphorn.

From Summer 2017 International and EU students will be able to apply to the scheme provided they are a full time continuing Undergraduate student at Imperial. The scheme will run as a pilot and will be reviewed after three years. If the scheme is successful we are hoping that it can be extended to include Postgraduates.

You can read more about the scheme and how it came to be on Jennie’s blog, otherwise watch this space for progress updates over the coming year.
