CGCU: Alumni Officer

Having been your CGCU Secretary for the past year, I’d like to now rise to the challenge of being your Alumni Officer.

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Leah and I’m a second year Molecular Bioengineer. I introduced ‘Engineers’ Editorial’, your fortnightly update on what’s going on across all clubs and societies in the CGCU. Other tasks I’ve completed include being in contact with the CGCA, the Alumni branch of the CGCU, to help organise the Holbein Sportsman Award. This means I’ve already established the connections needed to get the most out of our partnership with the Alumni next year.

Things I’d like to introduce include:

-Better advertisement of scholarships available through the CGCA

-More opportunities for current CGCU students to interact with Alumni to discuss their experiences at Imperial and learn about how it shaped their career

-Campaign for a ‘pairing system’, where current students can apply to be paired with an Alumnus from their department for advice

Staying on committee means I’m here not just as your Alumni Officer but also for anything else you may need. Just like last year, feel free to get in touch with me via email or in person- it was great to speak to so many of you during my role as secretary!
