Clayton Yang

Neuroscience: Secretary

Hi, my name is Clayton Yang and I would love to be the Secretary of ICSM Neuroscience. Having attended many Neuroscience events, I would really like to be part of and contribute to the society.

I am currently the General Executive of ICSM Surgical Society where I organised and chaired the “Plastic Surgery Skills Day”, the biggest plastic surgery event Surgical Society has held to date. I am also the treasurer for Malaysian Medics International UK and helped organise 2 conferences in London and Dublin, both focussing on choosing medical specialties. More recently, I co-chaired the “Reconstructing the Stereotype 2020” conference, one of iPRAS’s most successful events with world-renowned surgeons from America, Singapore and the UK.

Through these society roles and events organised, I have a great understanding of how societies function as well as knowing how to work with the Imperial Union. As the secretary, I will continue the great work of my predecessors and ensure good communication between committee members. I will ensure all society members are informed of every ICNS event by having regular Newsletter updates as well as Facebook announcements. I have experience in using Mail Merge so I do know how to manage large volumes of emails. I am used to liaising with multiple speakers and students on a daily basis, which was crucial in organising all the events mentioned above. I believe I have the passion and drive to make the society better and look forward to working with the incoming committee.
