Ciao, fellow Italians!
I am a third year chemist, going into Management at the Business School next year.
Italians love being around other Italians. We have that culture, sense of humour, lifestyle and "marcia in più" that not even the London weather will change.
We have all it takes to be the most active and fun society at Imperial. Yet, in the past few years we have struggled.
From years of experience in internanational organizations, like Rotaract and Diplomatici, I think I know what is the ingredient for engagement: inclusivity.
Not only we all have to feel part of the best group of people, but we have to make the others, Italian and non-Italian, wanting to be part of it as well.
If elected, these will be my mottos:
--> 𝖀𝖓𝖆 𝖒𝖊𝖑𝖆 𝖆𝖑 𝖌𝖎𝖔𝖗𝖓𝖔 𝖙𝖔𝖌𝖑𝖎𝖊 𝖎𝖑 𝖒𝖊𝖉𝖎𝖈𝖔 𝖉𝖎 𝖙𝖔𝖗𝖓𝖔- Increasing the opportunities to meet troughout the year... has anyone said more socials and events?!
--> 𝙄𝙡 𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙤 è 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙤 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙝è è 𝙫𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙤 - Expanding the range of events: from renowned speakers to cooking contests to sports tournaments... there will be something for everyone
--> 𝙻'𝚞𝚗𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝚏𝚊 𝚕𝚊 𝚏𝚘𝚛𝚣𝚊 - Liaising with the other Italian societies in the city to expand our network and opportunities
--> 𝒜𝑔𝑔𝒾𝓊𝓃𝑔𝒾 𝓊𝓃 𝓅𝑜𝓈𝓉𝑜 𝒶 𝓉𝒶𝓋𝑜𝓁𝒶 - Creating ad hoc-event for non-Italians, like students-led language classes and movie screenings.
And, don't worry, your all time favorites - aperitivi and Mediterraneamente nights - will be back!
