Welcome to the Prosthetics Society!

Today, 65 million people suffer from limb loss and require a prosthetic limb as replacement. Such prosthetic limbs are extremely expensive to buy, ranging from £5,000 to £100,000. Although cheaper static prostheses exist, they are often ineffective in doing their required tasks and sometimes lead to more problems for its user.

Our society brings people together to discuss, design and build innovative low-cost prostheses, whether static or bionic, to improve the accessibility for people suffering from limb-loss. We also organise industry talks with leading experts and run introductory workshops for beginners as well.

Although most our members study Biomedical, Mechanical, Design and Electrical Engineering, embark with us on this exciting mission regardless of your background!

So look forward to working on hands-on projects which you would not be able to do via your curriculum and spending time in the workshop learning how to design a bionic prosthetic arm or leg!

All you have left to do is Log In, Become a Member of our society, and signup to our Newsletter to join us for all our amazing projects. Don't forget to follow our Instagram account where we post daily updates!
